Feb. 12, 2016

Here are five things worth knowing today:

1.The Rhode Island governor has officially signed into law a bill that will tax truckers in the state, up to $20, for traveling along Interstate 95. The money will be used to pay for bridge repairs, but trucking leaders are furious. The local NBC affiliate has the story.

2. The NTSB has blamed faulty oversight by the government as a partial reason for a DND Transportation truck killing a tollway worker and injuring a police office in Illinois in 2014, says the Insurance Journal.

3. A town in Indiana has filed a $500,000 lawsuit against a local trucking company for damage caused when one of its trucks hit an overpass, damaging the bridge, according to the Indy Star.

4. In Ohio, a woman is facing 25 federal charges as authorities claim she stole over $600,000 from her trucking company employer. WFMJ.com has more of the story.

5. Nissan is offering a base model of its Titan XD as a “standard” model. That model will simply be called the Titan, says Digital Trends.
