TruckGen's UCT2-5.5 ultra-compact gen-set provides more than enough power to keep fuel tanks, oil pans, block heaters, and drivers warm on cold days. With this 5,500-watt Kubota diesel-powered unit, ample 110-volt power is left over for appliances found in large, custom sleepers.

If an idling truck burns one gallon of fuel per hour for 10 hours a day, 300 days a year at $1.30 per gallon, the cost of fuel, extra oil changes, and excessive engine wear can be $5,000 to $6,000 a year. By eliminating these factors, the TruckGen 5,500-watt gen-set can pay for itself in 12 to 18 months, while averaging just 2/10 gallon of diesel fuel per hour itself.

The UCT2-5.5 comes with its own alternator for 12-volt DC battery charging. It includes a plug-in for home or truckstop pedestal AC power.

The gen-set's Goodyear helical-cut drive system reduces vibration and noise. It even comes with an interior-mounted remote start switch so the operator doesn't have to leave his warm bunk on a frigid night.

Measuring 25" wide × 24" high × 24" deep, the base 5.5 unit with aluminum diamondplate enclosure weighs about 300 pounds. The cab-mounted air-conditioner adds about 70 pounds.
