Emerald orders AuraGens for its trucks
Aura Systems Inc has received the first order for AuraGens to be used in refrigeration trucks under the previously announced distribution agreement with Emerald Commercial Leasing of Atlanta GA. The order, to be delivered as soon as possible, is valued at more than $240,000.
Joe Dickman, Emerald's president, said, “With the AuraGen, we will provide our customers with an all-electric refrigeration system, eliminating the noise and pollution produced by the extra diesel engine typically used in refrigeration trucking applications. In addition, for the first time we can now offer refrigeration trucks powered by natural gas.”
The AuraGen is an Aura-patented device used for mobile power generation. Its overall efficiency is approximately double the efficiency of other conventional alternator-based systems, the firm says. This increase in efficiency results in a smaller, lighter system that produces the desired electric output at enhanced idle speed for gasoline engines and at idle speed for diesel-based engines.
