Shell Lubricants' Shell Rotella T Multigrade 15W-40 and Pennzoil Long-Life 15W-40 heavy-duty motor oils have successfully met the new Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03 specification, allowing both brands for use in all Mack engines. Mack issued the new specification guidelines September 16, 2003.

The new Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03 specification required additional testing to validate that heavy-duty motor oils meet increased performance standards in four primary areas. These include the ability to manage higher levels of soot; the ability to better resist shearing; improved seal compatibility; and a new, minimum Total Base Number (TBN).

Rotella T 15W-40 also meets or exceeds API CI-4, Caterpillar ECF-1, Cummins 20078, MB 228.3, and Volvo VDS-3 performance requirements.

Developed with 100% Purebase base oil, Long-Life oil also meets or exceeds performance requirements of API CI-4, Caterpillar ECF-1, and Cummins CES 20078.
