Food Lion is donating 42,000 pounds of ice and more than 36,000 one-half liter bottles of water to aid Hurricane Charley victims in Volusia County, Florida.

Food Lion is donating 42,000 pounds of ice and more than 36,000 one-half liter bottles of water to aid Hurricane Charley victims in Volusia County, Florida.

Trucks carrying the ice and bottles of water are traveling to Florida to assist residents of Volusia County. The water and ice will be delivered to the American Red Cross in Daytona Beach, which will handle distribution of the supplies. For information about distribution, residents should phone the American Red Cross at 386-226-1400.

Food Lion is a subsidiary of Delhaize America, the United States division of Brussels, Belgium-based Delhaize Group. The unit operates more than 1,200 stores and has about 73,000 employees.
