Bonduelle obtains Unilever frozen brands

Unilever has sold its remaining Spanish frozen foods brands to Bonduelle, a French food group.

Unilever has sold its remaining Spanish frozen foods brands to Bonduelle, a French food group. Terms of the transaction were not available, but the purchase price reportedly was several million euros.

Five years ago, Bonduelle acquired most of Unilever’s Spanish frozen food brands.

The entire European frozen foods operation of Unilever is still to be sold, with sale completion expected by the end of 2006.

Unilever operates a frozen foods division in 11 European Union nations, including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. The company plans to retain the Italian part of the operation as a testing base for American frozen products.
