Transportation Service LLC has simplified gathering information from trucking companies to prepare Department of Transportation (DOT)-required fuel/mileage tax trip reports.

Hugh Tharpe, president and chief executive officer of Transportation Service, says, “Instead of collecting and auditing paper copies of driver trip reports to determine the trucking company's state-specific tax liability, we can now use a truck's GPS data to prepare the reports.”

The collected electronic data is processed by a newly developed software program that makes the process easier, faster, more accurate, and more economical.
