Cold-Link Logistics recently planned a major expansion and upgrade of its Providence, Rhode Island, tri‑temperature cold storage facility. The company, which operates as one of the 10 largest privately held cold storage platforms in North America, will add 65,000 sq. ft. of freezer space to its existing 64,000-sq.-ft. facility, bringing total capacity to 129,000 sq. ft.
Cold-Link will increase frozen pallet positions by 13,500, raising total capacity to 18,000 pallets. The renovation will include a more efficient refrigeration system, expanded loading docks from 14 to 17, and a new fire protection system. Additionally, 3,000 square feet of ambient space will be converted to freezer capacity. The expanded facility will support more than 15 million consumers in nearby metropolitan areas, accommodate larger tenants, and create new job opportunities. Construction will begin in the first quarter of this year, with completion expected by early 2027.
"This expansion underscores our confidence in Cold‑Link Logistics’ ability to capture growing demand for high‑quality cold storage driven by evolving supply chain needs," Michael Mandich, president and managing partner of Cold-Link, stated. "The Providence facility plays a critical role in our Northeastern network, serving a diverse range of customers. By nearly doubling capacity and upgrading our infrastructure, we are positioning Cold‑Link to deliver reliable and industry‑leading services well into the future."
