The Dothan facility operates at temperatures ranging from 34°F to 50°F and is rail-served by CSX. It is located in a key agricultural region and has historically supported peanut shelling operations.
The acquisition marks Vertical Cold Storage’s 13th facility and its second site in Dothan. The company previously acquired a freezer warehouse from Dothan Warehouse in 2024 and integrated it into its national network.
Vertical Cold Storage will implement its warehouse management technology, safety programs, and food quality systems across the newly acquired site.
“We’re excited to continue to expand upon the strong, long-term relationships that Dothan Warehouse has established with local peanut customers,” Jim Henderson, CCO of Vertical Cold Storage, stated. “Our nearby freezer facility primarily supports local poultry producers, where we offer blast freezing, freezer storage, and export services. Acquiring the refrigerated warehouse shows our commitment to support additional food producers in the region.”
