Richmond Cold Storage Company (RCS) has completed expansion of its Richmond VA facility. Just off the Interstate 95 North/South corridor, the facility opened in 1991 and offers blast freezing, frozen and refrigerated storage, rail service, a cross dock, and an RFID lab.
The expanded facility consists of 184,000 square feet of temperature-controlled warehouse space. The site provides storage temperatures ranging from –20º F for ice cream up to +40º F. Situated on the CSX rail line, it is United States Department of Agriculture-approved for export and is Russian-certified for pork and poultry. Clients also have 24/7 access to their inventory and information through RCS ColdTrax.
The Richmond facility provides efficient distribution and logistical services in the mid-Atlantic area. Additional capacity allows RCS to better serve customers and expand its customer base in the region.
