TKO Dock Doors announced that its VertiCool door has been selected by Plant Engineering magazine as a 2011 Product of the Year finalist.

The VertiCool door is a dock door designed specifically for use with vertical storing dock levelers. Since many facilities deal with budget constraints that prevent them from installing vertical-rise freezer doors, they have installed standard sectional doors, which do not provide them with proper energy-saving capabilities.

Josh Brown, national sales manager for TKO, said, “Installing a vertical storing leveler provides an opportunity to save energy with the ability to get a better seal at the bottom of the door. Our intent with designing the VertiCool door was to offer these customers a more cost-effective alternative to a vertical rise freezer door, while still maintaining the same thermal capabilities.”

Features of the VertiCool include 4-inch-thick R-23 insulation with a 48-inch panel height, providing thermal protection and reducing panel joints by 50% over standard doors. Dual compression side seals are mounted to the door panel to prevent damage, and the closed-cell foam interior is designed to prevent moisture accumulation.

TKO offers a trial door risk-free for 30 days to potential customers. The company is a 4Front Engineered Solutions Inc business. For more information, visit www.tkodoors.com, call 1-877-408-6788, or e-mail [email protected].
