Refrigeratedtransporter 3333 Win Chill Expansion Phase 2

Second phase of Win Chill Cold Storage warehouse expansion underway

Aug. 6, 2018
See why Win Chill Cold Storage and Tippmann Innovation have begun a phase two expansion of a Sioux Falls SD warehouse.

Tippmann Innovation recently completed the construction of a 205,000-square-foot state-of-the-art cold storage facility for Win Chill Cold Storage. This new warehouse in Sioux Falls SD includes more than 30,000 pallet positions and 1,100 positions of Tippmann Innovation’s QF+ IN-Rack Freezing system. The facility is equipped with 16 dock doors and is also rail-served.

As demand for cold storage warehousing in Sioux Falls continued to increase during the early stages of construction, Win Chill realized that with projected client commitments, the warehouse would fill to capacity when the building was completed. As a result, Win Chill owners began planning with Tippmann Innovation engineers the design of a phase two expansion. Tippmann Innovation recently broke ground on phase two, which is slated to be completed in December 2018. The second phase will include a 126,000-sq-ft freezer addition with nine loading docks and 18,900 pallet positions.

Rapid growth of the region’s food processing market is causing a backlog of demand for warehouse space from both local and regional food processors. Win Chill’s facility has exceeded the expectations of Sioux Falls Development Foundation due to the continuing evolution of its premier project in Foundation Park.

“We are excited for the continued development of this project,” said Rob Adams, Tippmann Innovation partner. “The owners of Win Chill have been extremely engaged in the construction of this new facility, and they were ready to move forward with expansion when the opportunity was presented.”

Tippmann Innovation provides a full suite of cold storage construction services, including master site planning and operations guidance. Its technologies include the Patented QF+ In-Rack freezing and thawing system, coupled with the T2 spacer that creates the fastest system available. The company has offices in Indiana, Illinois and Florida and operates internationally.
