Echo Global Logistics expands EchoChill with Sacramento storage cooler facility to boost refrigerated LTL
Key takeaways
- EchoChill expands refrigerated LTL network with new Sacramento facility to boost West Coast temperature-controlled capacity.
- Consolidated refrigerated LTL reduces handling and stops while keeping freight on one trailer end-to-end.
- Regional shippers gain Sacramento capacity operating at 34°F.
Echo Global Logistics recently expanded EchoChill with a new storage cooler facility in Sacramento, California. The company, which provides technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services, is expanding its consolidated refrigerated LTL solution to improve access to chilled freight capacity across multiple U.S. regions.
EchoChill combines smaller refrigerated shipments into full loads, allowing freight to stay on the same trailer throughout transit. This reduces handling, eliminates extra stops and container switches, and helps maintain product condition during delivery.
The Sacramento facility supports shippers in the Pacific Northwest, northern California, and upper mountain states, adding consolidation capacity for outbound West Coast freight. The facility operates at a steady 34°F and is designed to maintain consistent temperature control throughout transit.
"EchoChill provides an essential service to temperature-controlled shippers looking to move smaller volumes without sacrificing reliability," Dave Menzel, president and COO at Echo, stated. "By offering consolidated refrigerated transportation, Echo is able to provide a faster and more cost-effective solution with lower claims potential."
