Tyson donates $1.5 million to RMHC
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of ARKOMA, which serves children in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma, will receive a $1.5 million grant from Tyson Foods Inc. The money will be distributed over a five-year period and will help support development of a new Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program for the ARKOMA chapter.
"Tyson Foods has been a strong supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities for more than 20 years," said Devin Cole, senior vice-president of national accounts for Tyson Food Service.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles provide medical, dental, and health education to children who otherwise would go without health care. All these services are provided in a 40-foot-long, 8-ft-wide van built specifically for delivering pediatric health care services.
As the chapter grows, it will continue to partner with the medical and business community to assess the most critical needs of children in the area and to raise funds to support RMHC core programs that would best serve those needs.
The Tyson donation was given in support of World Children’s Day at McDonald’s, an annual global fund-raiser for children. Observed this year on November 20, the charity event is celebrated in more than 100 nations.
