C R England, a Salt Lake City UT-based global transportation provider, has received the Chiquita Cold Chain Carrier of the Year Award. This award selects a carrier each year that provides Chiquita Brands International with exemplary temperature-controlled carrier services.

The Chiquita Cold Chain Carrier of the Year Award is awarded based on performance in temperature-controlled services and takes into account number of shipments between August 2010 and July 2011 and efficiency of refrigerated loads. The award takes into account every load shipped and selects the best cold chain performance for raw and fresh products.

“Protecting our cold chain is something we are extremely passionate about at Chiquita, and we take great care in selecting a recipient for this award,” said Josh Vipperman, transportation manager, Chiquita.

In related news, C R England also received the FAC Mexico Carrier of the Year Award from FAC Food Logistics. The award honors a carrier based on these four main criteria:

    •Number of loads

    •On-time service

•Communication and customer service at all times

•Outstanding performance during the Yuma AZ freeze in early 2011

The FAC Mexico Carrier of the Year Award was presented at the FAC Carrier conference in Raleigh-Durham NC in early October 2011. This award distinguishes carriers for exceptional customer service with a strong focus on the ability to efficiently adapt to unexpected issues that arise.

Founded in 1920, C R England offers services including national, Mexico, and regional truckload service as well as dedicated and intermodal services. Other services include leasing, brokerage, LTL/parcel, supply chain engineering, special project engineering, warehousing, and global sourcing.
