Purfresh Inc has launched its grower partnership program. The program, designed to create working relationships with growers, analyzes the post-harvest supply chain of growers’ commodities to provide the best solution to optimize the quality of the delivered product to the consumer. In addition, the program assures the availability of the Purfresh technology to preferred customers during peak shipping season.

“Purfresh’s active atmosphere solution provides shippers with a cost-effective solution to reduce decay, control ripening, and enhance food safety of fresh produce shipped throughout the world via ocean transit,” said Dr Brian Westcott, president and chief executive officer of Purfresh. “To assure we can meet the demand of our preferred customers and provide the maximum benefit of our technology, we created an allotment system that will reserve units for program participants in advance of anticipated usage.”

Purfresh provides a combination of ripening control, 100% residue-free decay prevention, and enhanced food safety. Certified organic and approved by the USDA and FDA, Purfresh uses an active form of natural oxygen—precisely controlled—to kill molds, yeasts, and bacteria in the air and on surfaces by up to 99%, as well as to consume and regulate ethylene. Purfresh constantly monitors the environment inside the reefer throughout the voyage, letting even highly sensitive fruits and vegetables be shipped long distances.

The grower partnership program is available to a select group of preferred customers. It requires growers to complete a post-harvest survey and submit a seasonal forecast.
