Stater Bros. Markets reports the first delivery of refrigerated product to its 2.1 million-square-foot Norton Distribution Center. This activity will be under the direction of Roger Schroeder, the company’s vice president–Produce Division. He will be accompanying Stater Bros’ senior truck driver Danny Flores to begin the process of transferring product from the current Produce Distribution Center in Colton CA to the new Refrigerated Distribution Center in San Bernardino CA.

The company’s new Refrigerated Distribution Center is scheduled to begin operation in September 2008. It includes multiple temperature zones that range from 55 degrees F to –20 degrees F, a humidity-controlled produce room, two humidity-controlled floral rooms, energy-efficient air doors, and other technologies to contribute to a safe and productive operation.

The new Norton Distribution Center replaces eight Stater Bros. Distribution Centers, which were in Colton, Redlands, and Mira Loma CA.
