Celadon Group Inc’s Celadon Trucking Services has earned the 2017 Military Friendly Employer designation by Victory Media, publisher of GI Jobs.

First published in 2003, the Military Friendly Employers list is provided each year to service members and their families, helping them discover the best post-military career opportunities available.

Companies and organizations earning the Military Friendly Employer designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from Victory Media’s proprietary survey. Victory Media determines ratings methodology, criteria and weightings with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.

Final ratings are determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.

Celadon also has been approved for the Veteran Apprenticeship Program through the Department of Labor and the Veteran’s Administration. Future and current Celadon drivers using GI Bill benefits may now be eligible to earn monthly income in addition to their regular salary as they transition into their new trucking careers with Celadon.

Applicants to the 12-month program must be using GI Bill benefits to qualify for the program and apply directly to the Veterans Administration. Veterans will have the opportunity to earn additional allowances and stipends tax-free from government funding during the 12-month program. Amounts are determined by the years served and the type of benefits received through the GI Bill.
