Learn more about Maverick Transportation's planned pay raise for student drivers and a new pay-for-experience plan.

Maverick Transportation LLC, ranked as one of the National Transportation Institute’s Top Pay Carriers, recently announced a pay raise for student drivers and a new pay-for-experience plan.

The student pay increase is applicable to all over-the-road (OTR) divisions, bringing student starting pay to $0.47 to $0.53 per mile depending on division. In addition, the new pay-for-experience plan will give months-of-service credit for all drivers.

“Maverick is excited to announce this significant pay increase for our student drivers.” said John Culp, president of the company. “We recognize that it is imperative that our industry bring new entrants into the truck driving profession, and we are proud to be a leader in creating that opportunity.”

The pay increase, which goes into effect June 17, 2018, will bring starting pay for student drivers to $0.49 per mile for the OTR temperature control division, $0.47 per mile for the flatbed regional division, $0.49 per mile for the flatbed OTR division, and $0.53 per mile for the OTR glass division. This is the fourth pay increase for Maverick drivers in recent months. The Little Rock AR-based carrier rolled out a $0.05 per mile increase for its OTR temperature control division in April.

Additionally, Maverick will now give months-of-service credit for all drivers on the new pay-for-experience plan. All drivers, including students and experienced drivers, will receive pay for verifiable months-of-service credit, up to a maximum of 48 months. Maverick’s $5,000 sign-on bonus now applies to all drivers with at least six months of verifiable OTR experience.

Maverick drivers also receive pay increases up to five years, a pay-for-performance bonus, and a driver referral bonus program. Other driver benefits include excellent home time, weekend guarantee pay, paid orientation and training, paid weigh station bypass and tolls, 401k plan + match, company-paid life insurance, health and dental insurance options, and paid vacation. Temperature control division drivers also receive a $1,000 weekly minimum guarantee payment.
