Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, manufacturer of refrigerated trailers, dry freight vans, flatbeds and Tautliner curtainside trailers, applauds Denney Transport in its driver recruitment initiative.
As part of this initiative, Denney Transport purchased 60 new Utility 3000R refrigerated trailers to promote the program. The trailers feature an American flag graphic running the length of the trailer.
“This is personal for my father,” said Erica Denney, sales representative for Denney Transport. “He started the company in 1994 when he bought his first tractor and trailer and grew it into a fleet of over 125 tractors and 170 refrigerated trailers that run coast to coast. He believes America is the land of opportunity, and there is no other country where he could have done this. He wants drivers to share in that opportunity. Our mission is to make sure every driver has a chance to succeed and provide for their family.
“The number one issue for every fleet today is a shortage of drivers,” said Denney. “Some drivers have left the business due to the electronic logging mandate, and there is a lack of younger people who look at driving as a career. Driving is hard work, but it’s a great way of life, offering good pay. Our driver initiative offers an attractive pay package with excellent benefits, including satellite TV on our trucks.”
Craig Bennett, senior vice president–sales & marketing for Utility Trailer, said, “I met with Mike and Erica Denney at ATA and heard about their efforts to recruit drivers. Finding talent is an industrywide challenge. The driver shortage is impacting the economy and increasing costs for companies and consumers. I applaud Denney’s efforts to find and keep quality drivers.”
