R2 Logistics recently revealed the recipients of its 2019 Carrier of the Year Awards.

The Carrier of the Year Awards recognize transportation service providers for consistent superior freight management for R2 Logistics and its customers. Winners were selected based on their level of service, volume and collaboration in partnership with R2 in three transportation modes: refrigerated, dry van and LTL.

Refrigerated: Deerfield Farms Service (Elmer NJ)

“Deerfield Farms Service exemplifies the best traits that a brokerage could ask for in their carrier network—reliable, efficient and understanding,” said Jacob Marsh, R2’s branch manager in Denver. “They have run almost all of our bulk carrot loads for one of our toughest lanes. The delivery appointment has never made their rate change, and their ability to scrounge up trucks, even last minute, has been nothing short of outstanding.”

The entire Deerfield team is extremely easy to work with. We’ve never had a single issue with them falling off a load at the last minute. Their service and relationship with the shipper has even helped us garner more volume from our customer. This is a top-notch carrier in our network, I only wish we had more of them available.”

Dry Van: Lincoln Trans (Antelope CA)

“Working with Lincoln Trans has been nothing short of a blessing,” said Riley Callicutt, R2’s Los Angelese branch manager. “The partnership we have created between Lincoln and R2 has started to extend beyond the Los Angeles office and they have provided top notch service, reliability and great communication across our entire network.

“We originally began working with Lincoln for a high-volume drop trailer program in the Pacific Northwest. Their flexibility and willingness to assist with capacity outside their normal lanes has helped us foster a growing relationship with one of our top customers. It’s been a pleasure working alongside their team and with people that have the same mindset; it’s about the partnership and playing the long game together.”

LTL: Southeastern Freight Lines (Lexington SC)

“Southeastern Freight Lines has provided our customer base with consistent reliable service in 2019 and in years past,” said John Hansen, R2’s director of LTL operations. “They were instrumental in seamlessly transitioning one of our incumbent truckload clients to also utilizing R2 Logistics’ LTL service. By combining excellent pricing and execution we were able to completely satisfy our customer while requiring minimal intervention on our side.

“Southeastern’s Charleston, South Carolina terminal was essential in this process by providing great customer service and working hand in hand with the shipper to ensure on time pickup and delivery of all shipments. Furthermore, we found these aspects of Southeastern to hold true with all of our LTL clients in 2019.”
