Pride Transport, a refrigerated transportation company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, recently increased driver pay for the third time in the last 12 months.

The most recent pay increase goes into effect Oct. 1, and follows previous compensation boosts in July and December 2020. The company said its per-mile pay now has gone up by 10 cents per mile within the last year. Pride’s truck drivers now can expect to average $70,000 annually—an increase of more than 20% from pre-pandemic levels.

“We truly value our drivers and are thrilled to announce this pay increase,” said Steve Schelin, director of recruiting. “We take pride in knowing that our drivers can count on us for a long, stable career with great pay. This new pay increase combined with our existing $10,000 sign-on bonus, 20% 401k match, and, most importantly, a driver-centric culture, will ensure that our drivers share in the success of the company.”

The new pay rate range for a solo over-the-road driver at Pride now is between 51 and 75 cents per mile, Pride added. The $10,000 sign-on bonus is paid out at a rate of $100 per week during the first two years of employment.
