Specialist transport refrigeration manufacturer Klinge Corporation is participating in Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) 2014 in Stavanger, Norway. The event, one of the premier exhibitions and conferences for the offshore oil and gas industry, will be held August 25–28, 2014, at the Stavanger Forum. Stavanger is considered to be one of Europe’s energy capitals and is often called the oil capital of Europe. The Scandinavian city is home to one of the world’s largest oil companies, Statoil. In fact, Forbes ranked Statoil as the 20th-largest oil company in the world.
Held biennially, ONS attracts 60,000 attendees to Stavanger. Conference visitors will hear from key players in the international oil and gas industry and ministers and officials from oil- and gas-producing nations. Visitors also have access to the latest innovations from approximately 1250 leading oil and gas companies. ONS features two parks that bring forth the industry’s top issues for discussion and debate. The Innovation Park focuses on the oil and gas industry’s increasing reliance on cutting-edge technology. The Clean Energy Park will have a special focus on clean energy. At ONS 2014, Klinge Corp will feature its offshore refrigerated containers that are specially built for the oil and gas industry. The refrigeration systems are explosionproof and are designed specifically to withstand hazardous conditions. Equipment is certified to the European Union’s ATEX Directive, which contains safety guidelines for machinery used in potentially explosive environments such as offshore installations. Offshore refrigerated containers are rated for hazardous Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas (where gas safe zone operation cannot be guaranteed). Klinge Corp’s refrigeration systems can be delivered on DNV 2.7-1 10-foot or 20-ft containers as well as on standard reefer containers up to 40 feet long.
