Sept. 9, 2019
Price Digests recently revealed the winners of the 2nd annual Price Digests Highest Retained Value Awards.

Price Digests recently revealed the winners of the 2nd annual Price Digests Highest Retained Value Awards (HRVA).

The vehicle values and specs data provider presents the industry’s only award that leverages residual values of commercial trucks to recognize those that best hold their value.

“The Truck Blue Book analyst team is excited to enter our second year of the Price Digests Highest Retained Value Awards,” said Jessica Carr, Price Digests’ data analytics manager and leading trucking expert. “We remain focused on providing reliable residual values for all classes of the commercial trucks represented on the market.”

The HRVA award is presented in nine categories within Class 3-8 trucks, ranging from light to heavy-duty models. The winners represent the model series in each truck category projected to retain the highest percentage of their original value over a five-year period.

This year’s heavy-duty winners are the Kenworth T880 in the Conventional Day Cab Tractor category, the Volvo VNL 64T in Conventional Sleeper Tractor and the International WorkStar 7400 in Conventional Cab and Chassis.

Price Digests found the T880 retained 54.99% of its manufacturer’s suggested retail value (MSRP) of $161,090 after five years. The finalists in the Conventional Day Cab Tractor division included the International Prostar, Mack CXU613, Western Star 4900SB and Volvo VNL42T.

The complete list of retained-value winners includes:

  • Heavy Duty Conventional Day Cab Tractor: Kenworth T880
  • Heavy Duty Conventional Sleeper Tractor: Volvo VNL 64T
  • Heavy Duty Conventional Cab and Chassis: International WorkStar 7400
  • Medium Duty Conventional Cab and Chassis: Kenworth T170

“The Highest Retained Value Awards provides us the opportunity to utilize our deep industry expertise in truck valuation and connect with the trucking industry leaders to recognize the success of their best products in nine categories.” Carr said.

“The awards are a representation of our core mission to provide asset data that drives a competitive advantage.”

The winners will be presented with the HRVA trophies Oct 28 at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta GA.
