Canadian carrier iHaul Freight has partnered with trucking tech provider Motorcity Systems. IHaul will be using Relay, Motorcity’s real-time driver communications and visibility app, to enhance operational efficiency and improve the overall user experience.
Relay is a cloud-based communications platform developed by Motorcity to drive operational improvements and generate time and cost savings for both drivers and dispatch teams, the company stated in a press release.
As part of the implementation, iHaul Freight will integrate its driver hours-of-service duty status and vehicle telematics data from Orbcomm and Samsara with the Relay dispatch-driver messaging platform. This integration will facilitate the management of electronic logging device (ELD) data from both providers, according to the release.

“We were able to consolidate user portals and deliver improved communication and a customized mobile app experience for our drivers,” said Kevin Sorensen, software analyst at iHaul. “In Motorcity we found a partner that could integrate our data together from different systems and deliver it in new apps that made it easier and more efficient to use for our Ops team.”
