Cadec Global has enlisted the assistance of ALK Technologies to provide trucking fleets with optimized routes, a reduction of out-of-route mileage and lower fuel consumption, the fleet management systems company said.
The partnership integrates ALK’s CoPilot Truck GPS Navigation with Cadec’s PowerVue and Mobius TTS fleet management solutions running on Cadec 100 Series on-board computers.
The integration allows Cadec customers to send updated routes to OBCs and drivers can then follow turn-by-turn navigation and voice prompts created by CoPilot Truck to any number of delivery destinations. When one delivery is completed, drivers can select their next destination from their delivery list and CoPilot Truck calculates the route, taking into consideration vehicle length, weight and more.
Once a delivery destination is reached, the system will automatically switch back to Mobius or PowerVue, allowing drivers to complete paperless entry of delivery and customer data.
