Synop launches Fleet Driver Mobile App to streamline charging access

The Synop Fleet Driver Mobile App allows drivers to add RFID card information to their profiles, making authorization and instant payments easier.

Synop, a platform for electric vehicle fleet solutions, has launched its new Fleet Driver Mobile App, which will provide EV fleets with managed access charging capabilities. With this feature, Synop will further streamline electric vehicle charge management for its customers

Typically, fleet operators equip their drivers with RFID cards that grant them access to on-site chargers. However, these cards are easily lost or damaged, and replacing them is often time-consuming and causes operational delays. The Synop Fleet Driver Mobile App allows drivers to add RFID card information to their profiles, making authorization and instant payments easier. In addition, drivers can use the app to:

  • Discover chargers across their network: Users can locate in-network charging sites nearby or on their route through the Synop map.
  • Match chargers based on needs: The app allows users to find the most suitable chargers based on their requirements, charging speeds, and current pricing.
  • Manage charging from the app: Users can initiate and monitor charging sessions directly from their mobile devices, with the option to set limits or stop charging as needed.
  • Add and save payment information: Payment integration allows users to save their payment details for hassle-free transactions.

Synop's mobile app integrates with the Synop web application, enabling users to access the platform with no additional configuration or onboarding required. Charging prices created on the web application are visible to users on the mobile app, ensuring consistency and transparency. The app can also be white labeled, providing all the same Synop functionality with user branding.

"Our new mobile app marks a significant milestone in the evolution of electric vehicle fleet solutions," said Gagan Dhillon, co-founder and CEO of Synop. "Through advanced features like seamless charger discovery, optimal charging options, and effortless payment processing, we’re removing the headache and annoyance often associated with EV charging on the road for fleet operators and drivers."

Synop's mobile app prioritizes user experience, offering intuitive navigation and real-time updates throughout the charging process. Users receive push notifications upon completion of charging sessions, along with emailed receipts for transaction records.

Because the Fleet Driver Mobile App enables Synop's managed access charging capabilities, fleets can extend access to their private charging depots to commercial partners, opening doors to an added revenue stream through charger monetization. Drivers authorized by designated partners simply need to download the app to utilize on-site charging.
