International Truck has rolled out its redesigned WorkStar at this week’s World of Concrete show in Las Vegas. The truck boasts a new hood and grill that “looks more powerful than ever,” as well as accommodates 2007 emissions-compliant engines without dropping the radiator between the frame rails.

The new hood and grill allows International to maintain power take-off capabilities. The new design also accommodates the new MaxxForce 11 and MaxxForce 13 big bore engines.

The interior is also improved, with a new instrument cluster, a powerful electronic systems controller, redesigned seats and optional tilt-telescopic steering wheel.

The International PayStar now has an optional sound insulation package that can reduce cab noise by up to 60%. The PayStar also boasts more powerful engine options— up to 625 hp. It features an easier-to-mount chassis package.

A new PayStar model with a new axle configuration will be announced later in 2007, the OEM said.

International will be offering the Bendix ABS-6 Advanced with RSP Stability System in both WorkStar and PayStar trucks. The system continuously monitors the truck’s stability, and activates an electronic stability program to selectively apply vehicle brakes and de-throttle engine to prevent accidents.

Hendrickson Primaxx air ride suspensions are also coming in 2007.

The International WorkStar will have a Platinum Exterior package, which offers polished chrome accents. An Eagle Interior package will also be available for the Workstar, featuring wood grain interior trim accents, premium seats, door panel accents and a premium center console.
