PeopleNet founder awarded entrepreneurial honor

Ron Konezny, PeopleNet founder and CEO, has been chosen Ernst & Young’s Upper Midwest Region Entrepreneur of the Year in the technology category

Ron Konezny, PeopleNet founder and CEO, has been chosen Ernst & Young’s Upper Midwest Region Entrepreneur of the Year in the technology category. “This honor belongs to our incredible PeopleNet team, including customers, employees and investors,” Konezny said.

Konezny previously served as chief technology officer for PeopleNet, helping launch a number of the company’s most successful products, including the first commercial product to integrate GPS, wireless communications and the Internet, OTAP (over-the-air programming) capabilities, handheld integration, PerformX engine diagnostics, and email-based form messaging. During his tenure as both COO and CFO, PeopleNet tripled its revenues and become consistently profitable, the company said.

Konezny is now in the running for Ernst & Young’s national Entrepreneur of the Year award.
