New features are now available as part of an upgrade for Aljex Software's Transportation Intermediary Network (TIN) package, allowing for easier use by freight brokers, third-party logistics (3PL) companies and other transportation providers.

Enhancements include more reports, expanded accounting options and an optional ribbon of active loads that moves across the top of the screen like a market ticker, said Tom Heine, the company's president. Also, as Aljex's software is hosted on the Internet, upgrades are immediately available for
use by all subscribers at no additional cost, he noted.

Specific improvements include customer preferences that copy automatically to new orders -- encompassing billing method, pallet exchange policies, mileage calculation, etc. In addition, driving directions to shipper and consignee locations are saved automatically for instant retrieval.
