BeyondTrucks launches Trailer Yard Module to boost fleet trailer visibility and utilization
BeyondTrucks recently launched its Trailer Yard Module, designed to give private and specialized fleets real-time visibility into trailer location and status while improving utilization. The module aggregates data from dispatch activities, trailer tracking, and yard checks to feed AI-enabled optimization for cost and service management.
“To ensure high service levels, private and specialized fleets have a tremendous amount of capital tied up in trailers,” Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks, said. “Improving utilization is extremely valuable both financially and operationally, and it starts with better information, by knowing where trailers are, their current status, and whether they’re suitable for a specific activity.“
The Trailer Yard Module integrates with existing BeyondTrucks platform capabilities and can complement or replace traditional yard management systems. Key features include location and status visibility, workflow integration for drivers and yard teams, and compatibility checks for dispatch decisions. By incorporating real-time trailer data into load planning and optimization, fleets can reduce errors and make faster, more accurate operational decisions. Read more…
PlusAI targets 2027 fully driverless commercial launch with SuperDrive 6.0 software
PlusAI recently launched SuperDrive 6.0, its latest autonomous driving software designed for commercial-scale deployment with capabilities for night driving and construction zone handling. The new version accelerates AI model training by 10 times, enabling faster feature deployment and validation across real-world driving data from the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
“SuperDrive 6.0 isn’t an incremental update; it’s a major advancement of what an autonomous ‘brain’ can do,” David Liu, PlusAI CEO and co-founder, said. “By adding night driving and construction zone handling, autonomous trucks with SuperDrive could achieve 24/7 commercial operations. By doubling our predictive accuracy and supercharging our AI development pipeline, we have the potential to accelerate our development and expand our operating environment faster. From internal validation of a major feature to its deployment into commercial freight operations can take just weeks.”
SuperDrive 6.0 is currently operating in strategic freight corridors in Texas and will soon enable 24/7 commercial deliveries. The platform reduces AI development costs, improves scalability, and enhances safety with advanced motion forecasting and distributed compute architecture. PlusAI aims to launch fully driverless commercial operations using factory-built trucks in 2027. Read more…
Torc joins Virginia initiative to align autonomous truck workforce training programs
Torc is participating in a Go Virginia Region 2 planning grant led by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute’s Dock to Door Coalition to align autonomous vehicle workforce training. The effort will map existing programs, identify gaps, and recommend credentialed pathways for inspection and safety-critical roles in autonomous commercial trucking.
“The autonomous trucking industry is rapidly advancing, and we recognize a strong need for trained experts in the field,” said Anita Kim, director of state government and regulatory affairs at Torc Robotics. “By working alongside VTTI and the Dock to Door Coalition, we’re helping ensure that education and training pathways reflect the skills needed to support safe autonomous trucking operations—and that those pathways lead to sustainable jobs here in Virginia.”
The initiative will connect industry, academic, nonprofit, and public-sector partners to develop scalable workforce programs. Torc is providing expertise to define core competencies and align curriculum with national inspection and safety frameworks. Findings from the planning grant will inform future implementation of industry-aligned training programs across Virginia. Read more…
