ALK Technologies and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) have released the latest version of the Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD), which standardizes surface transportation planning, execution and billing for the DoD.
Based on ALK’s PC*Miler and PC*Miler Worldwide services, DTOD Version 22.1 is used by defense contractors within the U.S. military for household goods movements, travel reimbursement and freight transportation. DTOD distance standards are also used by commercial carriers who use the official DoD distance information for the contract bidding process.
According to ALK, commercial versions of the DTOD are available for companies that handle freight or personal property shipments for the U.S. DoD globally, and allow seamless integration with software systems including Innovative Computing, McLeod Software, Oracle, SAP and TMW Systems.
