Billionaire energy activist T. Boone Pickens will give the keynote address at The Work Truck Show 2009 Green Truck Summit on Tuesday, March 3, the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has announced.
Pickens will speak about his energy policy, the Pickens Plan, which calls for building wind farms to provide up to 22% of the electricity used in the U.S., developing a 21st century electric grid and using domestic natural gas as fuel to power fleet vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
“T. Boone Pickens will offer Green Truck Summit attendees a unique, business-oriented perspective on the value of alternative fuels based on his incomparable experience with both traditional and alternative energy sources,” said Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. “It will be an insightful and thought-provoking kickoff to the event.”
The Green Truck Summit, sponsored by International Truck, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on March 3. The keynote address will kick off the day, and will be followed by four general sessions and 18 breakout sessions on alternative fuels, hybrids, and product and technology developments, NTEA said.
