Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has announced it has added 15 additional Kenworth T370 diesel-electric hybrid single-axle tractors to its North American fleet.

The trucks, bringing to 305 the number of Kenworth T370 hybrids and 327 total hybrids, will be based in Canada, joining 20 hybrid side-bay trucks and two hybrid straight trucks already in service there. Markets served by the trucks will include Vancouver, London, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

Manufactured in Sainte-Therese, QC, two of the trucks will take part in the Olympic Torch Relay. Each truck will reduce fuel use by about 30% with a corresponding 30% reduction in emissions over standard diesel tractors.

“We are proud to expand Canada’s largest fleet of heavy-duty hybrid diesel-electric delivery
vehicles,” said Alain Robichaud, vp-supply chain customer service. “This is one of several ways we are investing to reduce energy consumption across our business.”
