More fuel economy, engine cleanliness and improved emissions system performance in vans and light trucks is the result of an update to the Supergard Synthetic Motor Oils from Citgo Lubricants.

The company announced that the GF-5 standard will replace its GF-4 and API Service SN will replace SM in the Supergard oils. The updates meet International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) standards.

General Motors is not moving to the GF-5 standard, but Citgo said it will guarantee the performance of the product in all GM vehicles.
