Slips and falls are the leading reasons for worker compensation claims in the trucking industry, according to the American Trucking Associations, and 83% occur at the back of truck/trailer, in the cargo handling area and at the truck cab. To enhance safety while entering and exiting cargo vans, Luverne now offers the Impact shock-absorbing rear bumper step and the Grip Step XL 9 ½ inch-wide running board.
Designed for delivery and work vans, the steel-reinforced Impact rear bumper has a 9 ½ inch surface with banded steel treads to prevent slips, and also protects the frame from damage suffered during a low-speed collision. Spring-loaded shocks embedded in the mounting brackets provide a modest amount of “give” and sustain no damage, such as backing up into a dock or wall while reversing at 5 mph or less.
The Grip Step XL running board, composed of reinforced steel, employs the same expanded treads for better traction by locking onto the driver’s work boots. They also feature a professional-grade zinc-primed, textured black powder coating. These are available for various cargo van makes and models for use on the passenger side only.
