The TransPower ST 1000 starting AGM battery is now being offered with a standard 4-year warranty, Trojan Battery Co. has announced.

“Enhancing the TransPower ST 1000 warranty offers transportation markets, such as truck and bus, the confidence of knowing that their Trojan battery is covered by one of the most comprehensive warranties in the industry,” said Elke Hirschman, vice president of marketing for Trojan Battery.

The ST 1000 is a sealed, maintenance-free AGM 31 starting battery. Its thick-walled, polypropylene case keeps internal components compressed and prevents against damage due to vibration. It also has a heavy-duty plate design that is thicker than standard battery plates, the company said.

Within the plate design is a grid network constructed with thick wires which are resistant to corrosion. The wires are arranged in a sunburst array that ensures peak performance by guiding the battery’s power to a focal point of charge resulting in 1,000 cold cranking amps, Trojan said.

For longer life, the ST 1000 features a high-density paste formulation which optimizes density, porosity and surface area to achieve a balance between power and longevity, company officials noted.
