• Clutches added to aftermarket product line

    May 3, 2012

    New medium- and heavy-duty truck clutches have been added to the growing aftermarket line available from Meritor. The new clutches, available in 14-in. and 15.5-in. standard and easy-pedal effort models, will be sold under the Euclid brand throughout North America, Meritor said.

    “Truck operators of all sizes want a complete solution for drivetrain and braking systems,” said Craig Cartmill, vice president, Aftermarket Americas, Meritor. “Our new Euclid clutches are reliable, dependable and long-lasting. These characteristics are what customers demand and our products are designed to exceed those expectations.”

    The clutches come with a 24-month/unlimited mileage warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

    The 15.5-in. clutch assemblies are available with seven, eight, nine and 10 spring disc designs with torque ratings from 1,250 to 2,050 lbs.-ft., and the 14-in. assemblies are available with torque ratings from 620 to 1,400 lbs.-ft.

    All the clutches come with the following features:

    • The VelveTouch ceramic clutch buttons;
    • An easy adjuster permitting fast, single-motion adjustment (standard on all 15.5-inch easy pedal effort models);
    • All disc springs are treated with a cryogenic process, which greatly extends disc spring life;
    • A sealed throw-out bearing for increased lubrication intervals and longer clutch life.
