Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), through its associated brands is opening a new parts distribution center in Dallas.

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), through its associated brands Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis and Alliance Truck Parts, announced the opening of a new parts distribution center (PDC) in Dallas, TX.

“This new facility is a major step in a multifaceted plan to improve parts availability and meet customer expectations of uptime,” according to the company. “The 275,000-sq.-ft. facility is a critical strategic component that will allow customers to receive stock and mission critical parts in record time.”

“We are excited about this new PDC, which is much more than just a building. It’s part of our strategy to get closer to our customers,” said Jay Johnson, general manager of supply chain. “DTNA is focused on continuous improvement and innovation.”

“The new Dallas PDC and supporting supply chain initiatives have dramatically improved our ability to service our customers. The speed with which we receive parts has improved front counter customer satisfaction due to improved fill rates. Technician morale and efficiency has improved, as well,” said Dan Stevens, chief operations officer and partner of Lonestar Truck Group.

According to the company, this new PDC is part of a significant investment in the DTNA supply chain. All PDC locations are a part of a network of services available to all customers of DTNA brands including Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis and Alliance Truck Parts.

“With the addition of the Dallas PDC, our lead-time on parts has been reduced by two days. This reduction will help us improve customer uptime as we continue to increase our dealership throughput,” said Rich Shearing, president of Premier Truck Group.
