Michelin announced it is expanding the Michelin Defender LTX M/S tire line with more than 30 new tire sizes.

Michelin announced it is expanding the Michelin Defender LTX M/S tire line with more than 30 new tire sizes. The tire is now available for nearly 75% of the light-truck vehicles on the road today, Michelin noted.

“Released last summer, the Defender LTX M/S with EverTread combines durable tread life and all-weather traction in a single tire that is designed to better meet the higher-torque demands of modern light trucks and SUVs,” according to the company. “With the EverTread compound, the Defender LTX M/S tire lasts 10 percent longer in severe conditions than its predecessor.”

“The expansion of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S with EverTread gives light truck and SUV drivers more options for tire durability and longevity without sacrificing safety and performance,” said Stephen Peters, marketing manager for Michelin North America’s light-truck tire and recreation division. “Along with shorter wet-stopping distances and improved snow traction for superior handling across conditions, the lower rolling resistance of the Defender LTX M/S will also provide drivers with increased fuel economy over the life of the tire.”

Defender LTX M/S tires are offered with a 50,000- to 70,000-mile warranty. The Defender LTX M/S is now available to consumers through more than 10,000 authorized dealer locations across North America. The tire is offered in 71 sizes that range from 15-inch to 22-inch rim diameters at a starting retail price of $154.
