The 2025 FleetOwner 500: Private list ranks the most prominent private carriers in the U.S. by total registered power units. Released in April, the FO500 saw many ranking shifts after a busy 2024 of carrier acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and expansions.
In addition to ranking the largest private fleet operations overall, FleetOwner breaks down these companies into categories based on equipment, cargo types, and industry segments. This media gallery focuses on construction fleets.

Construction fleets transport building materials such as lumber, steel, cement, and more. This can also involve transporting heavy-duty equipment such as cranes and tractors. The timeliness of construction fleets is crucial, as delays can affect the completion of construction projects. Construction fleets use dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and cement trucks, among others.
This year, Quanta Services and MasTec retained their positions at the top of this list. The other seven private fleets rose or fell in the rankings but stayed on the top 10 list. New to the top 10 in 2025 is Clyde Companies at No. 10.
