Red Dot Corp. has announced the creation of a sales group dedicated to the development of mobile heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) business among manufacturers of military vehicles. The company has supplied mobile air conditioning to the military since 2004.
"We entered the military market in response to an urgent need for air conditioning on vehicles already in service," said Randy Grover, military sales manager for Red Dot. "Today, climate control is seen as essential to a soldier's safety and is incorporated into original vehicle designs. By formally dedicating a sales team to this market, we can help manufacturers meet the military's requirements for HVAC performance, cost, and timelines without drawing resources away from our customers in construction, agriculture, and other commercial vehicle markets."
Products in development include Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles designed to deflect the force of explosive blasts from below, as well as other High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) that will be equipped with field-fitted armor.
