The new SureStart low voltage disconnect switch from Cole Hersee senses battery voltage and conserves starting power by disconnecting noncritical loads. With its ability to prolong battery life and prevent damage due to excessive discharge, the switch is said to be ideal for utility and delivery vehicles, as well as vehicles that utilize ancillary onboard equipment such as snowplows, hoists, pumps and floodlights.
The switch has a rating of 100 amps at 12 volts or 24 volts and has a service life of more than 1 million on/off cycles. Measuring just 4.5×4×4.27 in., the switch is resistant to moisture and does not require a solenoid to control high current, simplifying installation.
