The average price at the pump for a gallon of diesel fuel rose 3.7 cents to $1.37 this week, according to the U.S. Dept. of Energy.

Analysts say the price has risen from $1.30 two weeks ago amidst rumors the U.S. will attack Iraq, which could very likely disrupt oil flow.

According to the department's Energy Information Administration, the price is the highest it's been since last October 8, when it dropped 1.9 cents to $1.371.

Drivers in California have taken the biggest hit at the pump in August, where the price has jumped 12.8 cents to a nation-high $1.556 a gallon.
