LOUISVILLE, KY. The Horton DriveMaster Two-Speed Arctis Fan Drive is now available for Western Star Model trucks.

The fan, available for the 4700, 4800, 4900, and 6900 models, alternates between eddy current and spring actuated cooling. The technology offers precise temperature control of the engine as well as reduced operating noise levels, according to Horton.

“Not only will the Horton Fan Clutch provide customers with improved fuel economy on the road, they will also benefit from increased efficiency while idling,” said Ann Demitruk, director of marketing, Western Star. “By offering this option, we are providing yet another solution for our customers that will increase their performance and productivity – further benefiting their bottom line.”

Other benefits include more horsepower for auxiliary systems, less radiator abrasion from dust and debris, less wear and maintenance on fan belt, belt tensioner and HVAC components.
