Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. has agreed to operate the Pilot Truck Care Centers. Created by Pilot Travel Centers to provide repair and maintenance services at its truckstops, the truck care centers are currently established at eight locations in five states. They will retain the Pilot name, according to Goodyear.
Goodyear’s wholly owned subsidiary Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems LLC will run the care centers, offering new and retread tires, as well as limited repair and maintenance services, and roadside assistance for on-highway trucks. Plans call for expanding the service network to other Pilot Travel Centers by the end of 2005. Pilot currently operates 271 truckstops in 40 states.
