Jim Barr, group director of environmental and government relations for Ryder Systems in Miami, has been named to the newly-created Florida Statewide Intermodal Transportation Advisory Council (SITAC). He will serve a two-year term.

The SITAC advises the Florida Legislature on how best to allocate transportation resources to improve freight efficiency. It also makes recommendations on how to address increasing demands on Florida’s transportation network.

Barr, who is a member of the board of directors of the Florida Trucking Association, has more than 25 years experience in the highway transportation industry, including 16 years with Ryder and nine years with the American Trucking Association.
