    Ridewell adds auxiliary axle
    Oct. 12, 2005

Ridewell Suspensions has introduced a new auxiliary axle suspension rated for 22,500-lb capacity that is designed for vocational truck applications.

According to the manufacturer, the new RCA-215 Flex-Mount, non-steerable, air-ride/air-lift unit is a flexible system that easily adjusts to various frame widths and ride heights. It is also 50 to 72 lbs lighter than the company’s 225 model.

Ridewell said the RCA-215 Flex-Mount features a patented, contoured axle seat for secure axle connection without U-bolts. It also incorporates a new, lightweight double-bonding bushing and wide-beam spacing to help reduce axle stress. The auxiliary axle suspension is also designed to accept an axle drop of up to 8 inches, Ridwell noted. It also has 10-1/4-in. total travel, with up to 7 in. of lift, and has an axle alignment adjustment of 3/8-in. at each hanger. Options include axle integration and shock kits.
