Freer-breathing muffler
According to Advanced Exhaust Technologies LLC (AET), its new Liberator muffler provides fuel-economy savings of up to 1.2 mpg, reduces noise and improves the performance of Class 8 trucks.
The company says all those benefits are gained thanks to a reduction in back-pressure, which allows the Liberator to breathe more freely. And unlike other noise-canceling muffler designs, according to AET, the Liberator's passive system requires no external power source.
The muffler is made of polished stainless steel and comes with a functional lifetime guarantee to the original owner. The Liberator is patented in the U.S. and other countries and was developed by the firm's director of research, Stephen Heuser.
