Hendrickson has added a 54-in. wide box to its Vantraax family of slider suspension systems for wide-based single tires. Designed for dry freight, refrigerated and specialty vans, a single tire configuration combined with the Vantraax system could save over 350 lb. per trailer, the manufacturer said.

Hendrickson offers a wide box in a 40,000-lb. capacity with an 83.5-in. axle track with all standard equipment and options. The system uses the Intraax air suspension system and K-2 slider technology, which contributes to durability and weight reduction. In addition, an axle-beam connection is paired with a tri-functional bushing for ride softness and stability
